Born with significant hearing loss in his right ear, Jacob Lowy spent most of his life without any accommodations. This was, in some ways, by choice. However, for a long time, Lowy felt he had to choose from an either-or set of options: either he get a hearing aid and risk needing to consistently overcome societal perceptions of his capabilities, or he could blend in.

With over 1,700 student organizations, there's something for everyone. Connect with other students around interests like the arts, social justice, games, and food—we even have a club dedicated to feeding campus squirrels!
There are three University Unions on campus, and each has an information desk. If you have a question during regular office hours, just stop in, call (734) 764-INFO (4636), or chat with us. (If it's after hours, submit your question and we'll email you back within 24 hours.) Whatever your question is, we'll do our best to find the answer!
